The Waiting List: How Solar Panel Cleaning Software Shows Every Cleaning That Came Due
Every solar cleaning owner has had the moment. A customer calls and says, “Weren't you supposed to come back in the spring?” and it is August. They were not forgotten on purpose. They were just one line in a spreadsheet nobody looked at. The Waiting List exists so that moment never happens again.
Where Due Cleanings Go
Recurring Cleanings in Solar Panel Cleaning Software: Twice a Year, Yearly and Quarterly explained how plans are set by minimum days between visits. When those days are up, the cleaning has to go somewhere the office will see it. In SolarCleaningBossPro, that place is the Waiting List.
It is two views of the same thing: a live map with a pin for every cleaning that came due, and a list of the same jobs with the address, the panel details and the plan.
Pins Colored by Status
The map is where the Waiting List earns its keep. Each pin is colored by where that cleaning stands:
- Not due yet — the plan has not reached its minimum days. Useful for seeing what is coming.
- Due now — the cleaning is ready to schedule.
- Overdue — the cleaning has been due for longer than a 7-day grace period and should go on the schedule soon.
One look tells you how far behind or ahead you are, and where in town the work is piling up. A cluster of due pins in one neighborhood is a full day for one truck.
Plans Come Due on Their Own
The key thing about the Waiting List is that nobody fills it in. Twice-a-year homes, yearly homes and quarterly commercial arrays all arrive on it automatically when their plan says so. Each one keeps its plan, so after it is cleaned it drops off and comes back the next time it is due.
That changes the office's job. Instead of building the schedule from memory, the office starts from a complete list of what is due and decides when to do it. Nothing has to be remembered, only scheduled.
From the Map to a Truck
Scheduling from the Waiting List is quick. Pick the due pins that make sense together, put them on a truck and a day, and they move to the dispatch board. From there, auto-route sorts the day Closest First or Furthest First from the shop, and the tech app shows the same order.
Because the panel details travel with each pin, you can see while scheduling which stops are a quick single-story roof and which are a big steep two-story. That helps you avoid stacking too many hard roofs on one day.
Using the Grace Period
The 7-day grace period is there because real schedules slip. Rain, wind, a truck in the shop or a long commercial job can push things back a few days. A cleaning that comes due on Monday and gets done the following Friday is fine. A cleaning that sits for weeks is not.
Overdue pins are the ones to look at first. Some offices make it a rule: no overdue pins left at the end of the week. It is a simple target that keeps the recurring base healthy.
When a customer asks to wait, maybe because they are traveling or the roof is being worked on, write it in the notes on the job so the office knows why the pin is still sitting there. A note explains an overdue pin; an unexplained overdue pin is a customer who may be slipping away.
Seasons and the Waiting List
Solar cleaning tends to have busy stretches, and the Waiting List shows them coming. Looking at the not-due-yet pins tells you what next month will look like. If a lot of twice-a-year customers all signed up in the same spring, they will all come due again around the same time, and you can plan helpers or a second truck ahead of time.
The full day from quote to recurring cleaning, including the Waiting List step, is laid out in A Day in Solar Panel Cleaning Software: From Quote to Paid Invoice.
No More “Weren't You Supposed to Come Back?”
The Waiting List turns recurring revenue from something you hope happens into something you can see. Every customer who is due is on the map, colored by how urgent they are, with everything you need to schedule them.
